Jury Duty
Northview Church encourages all staff members to participate in civic duty when called.
- If a staff member is required to serve on jury duty, he or she will be paid at their normal rate of pay and hours if the day falls on his or her regularly scheduled workday.
- In the event the employee is released early from jury duty, he or she is expected to return to work.
- The church will not reimburse staff member for any costs related to serving on jury duty.
- Time off for jury duty must be submitted via Trinet and approved by the staff member’s supervisor.
Court Subpoenas
Employees who receive a subpoena should notify their supervisor in advance of their need to appear in court on the scheduled date. Court appearances under subpoena or out of civic duty (such as testifying as a witness) will normally be considered excused time with pay. Time to appear in court for personal business will be the individual employee’s responsibility. Normally, PTO will be used for this purpose.
