Northview Stories Nora Shively's Story: Hope Always May 1, 2020 Nora: My name is Nora Shively. I'm 12 years old and I attend the Greater Lafayette Campus. This project started when I was talking with a family friend about the little support he was given from the prison when he was released. I started to think about how hard it must be for people who have just been released from prison or jail, just to get back on their feet if they don't have someone to care for them. I got the idea that I could create purses for women who have just been released from jail or on work release. I'm calling it Hope Always. And it provides basic necessities, a Bible, and some items to help the woman who feels specially unloved who are on work release, or have just been released from jail. So far I've delivered a little over 25 purses to Tippecanoe County Corrections. I am now working on expanding to different correctional facilities within Indiana. I prayed over this for a while and I really felt called to do this for these women. I wanted to show these people that God cares about them and that we care about them, too.
