Details: Northview is responding to the natural disasters that have raged across our country.
Convoy of Hope, a longtime Northview Missions partner, has been providing disaster relief services across the US since 1994. Presently, they are serving the many families displaced by the California wildfires, as well as those recovering from Hurricane damage in the Southern US. Their team packs, delivers, and distributes supplies in the name of Jesus Christ, and Northview has the opportunity to contribute to that mission. We will be gathering across campuses to pack hygiene supplies for families displaced by wildfires and other natural disasters around the country so that Convoy of Hope's services continue uninterrupted.
Here is Convoy's recent update specifically regarding the fires in California, though these supplies may end up serving those affected by a future disaster.
California Wildfire Update
Regardless of whether you are able to attend one of these time slots, please join us in prayer for those affected by this disaster!
Important Note: As serving opportunities are limited, the signups may fill up quickly. Considering this, please do not register until you are certain you can join us on the day. If your campus's serving opportunity is full, please consider joining another campus for the day, or assembling hygiene kits as a family at home! Convoy of Hope has provided packing lists for kits of all sizes and types that can be found here.
Campus Serving Details:
Time: 12:30-3:30
The (Greatest!) Lafayette Campus will be gathering after Sunday Services on March 2nd from to pack supplies together. We will need many hands to complete this work, and are looking forward to sharing time as a campus to meet this need. Please see the event details below, and use the sign-up to register yourself, as well as any friends or family you plan to serve with. We want to be sure we have enough hands for the day, so please only register if you are sure you can be present.
We are planning to share lunch and a time of fellowship together before we begin packing, so please plan to stay and eat with us inbetween!
Child Care: We are thrilled to provide childcare for kids who are in our Tinies – Pre-K classes after lunch! Childcare drop off will be open starting at 1:15 and pickup will close at 3:45. Please register your kids who are birth – 5 years old and not in Kindergarten. To ensure we have sufficient childcare workers, please email Katie Anderson (katie.anderson@northviewchurch.us) to register your children before finishing your family's volunteer registration.
For children older than five, please use your best judgment about their ability to assist with packing kits. If you plan to serve with children younger than eight, please do not register them as volunteers.
