FAQ

The Northview School of Ministry and Leadership exists to equip the next wave of church leaders for the ministry God has called them into. Our goal is to empower them with the knowledge and practical skills to help them navigate the world of ministry in whatever context they find themselves in.

The Northview School of Ministry and Leadership is for students who feel God has placed within their hearts a desire to serve in the marketplace, the local church, or Missions Organizations in order to pour their lives out in serving others, and to help make Jesus known both across the street and worldwide.

The four foundational pillars of the Northview School of Ministry and Leadership experience are:

Biblically Anchored: We believe that God’s Word is the source of all wisdom and understanding, and our students will learn to read, understand, and apply the Scriptures to their lives.

Servant Leadership: Jesus was the greatest leader the world has ever seen, and his example was serving those around him. At Northview School of Ministry and Leadership, we believe that to lead, one must first learn to serve others.

Academic Excellence: Through our partnership with Bethel University, our students will benefit from learning from professors and Northview Church staff with extensive ministry experience. They will be able to take what they learn in the classroom and utilize it throughout the week.

Ministry Preparedness: At the School of Ministry & Leadership, our students will apply their classroom knowledge in practical experiences as they pursue a ministry focus, such as Family Ministries, Creative Ministries, Pastoral Leadership, or Missions and Outreach.

Through our partnership with Bethel University, our students can earn either a two-year Associate's (A.A.) or a four-year Bachelor's (B.A.) Degree in:

General Studies (A.A.)

The general studies major is designed for students who are seeking a two-year degree in a local church setting.

The foundation of this program is a Christ-centered liberal arts general education curriculum that consists of a wide range of courses from communication skills, humanities, diversity and global awareness, social science, natural science and math, Bible and religion. These courses fulfill most of the general studies requirements of any four-year degree. Students have the opportunity to individualize their education in order to achieve a balance between developing their known interests and exploring new subject areas.

Ministry Leadership (A.A. of B.A.)

Either Biblical Studies or Ministry Leadership Track

The ministry leadership degree incorporates in-depth Bible and theological study while focusing on the practical skills needed to minister in today’s contemporary, diverse culture.

As students engage in coursework, the goal is for them to experience deeper personal spiritual growth that will enable them to provide Christ-centered leadership to meet a variety of needs and to minister and communicate well in an increasingly diverse American context. The degree allows students to tailor their studies to emphasize biblical studies, youth ministry, or pastoral studies.

Multidisciplinary Studies (B.A.)

This degree allows students to custom-design their degrees to pursue unique avenues in their professional development better. Rooted in liberal arts, the core curriculum gives students a comprehensive academic foundation through courses in communications, humanities, diversity and global awareness, social science, natural science and math, religion and philosophy, and wellness.

Through our partnership with Bethel University (Mishawaka, In), we can offer fully accredited courses taught through a hybrid model of virtual and seated classroom experiences. Students can pursue either an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Ministry Leadership or Multidisciplinary Studies and an associate's degree in General Studies.
